Therapy for all

Individuals

Brooks is committed to providing trauma-informed, socially just therapy to people of all genders. The lingering effects of living in a racist, misogynist and transphobic culture can manifest for many people as depression, anxiety, and panic. Brooks sees the connection between the external world and our internal experiences as central to the therapy process. They primarily use narrative and collaborative therapies in their work with individuals, and see the world through a queer and feminist lens.

Short term therapy in order for transgender and non-binary people to access medical services is also offered. Brooks provides assessment and letters for people seeking access to medical services through an informed consent model of practice.

Relationships

People in relationships of all configurations are welcome: couples, triads, and any and all open configurations. Brooks uses an evidence-based approach to treating couples and relationships, drawing from Emotionally-focused therapy to guide the process. Brooks trained at Northampton Sex Therapy Associates for two years and is able to treat myriad sexual issues from desire discrepancy in couples to navigating genital pain and erectile challenges. Brooks is skilled at facilitating solutions to common challenges around parenting, household and emotional labor, and finances in committed relationships.
